The three steps
What is NFC, exactly?
NFC stands for Near Field Communication — the same technology behind contactless payments. Your guests tap their phone to a small sticker (about the size of a 50-cent coin) and a webpage opens instantly. No app download, no login, no scanning.
It works on every modern iPhone (XR and later) and virtually all Android phones. For older devices or guests who prefer it, a QR code does the exact same thing.
What the guest sees
When a guest taps or scans, a sealed envelope appears on their screen. The flap opens, and a personalised letter rises from inside — with their name, table number, dietary notes confirmed, and a welcome message from the couple. It takes about 4 seconds and guests love it.
What the couple sees
Your real-time dashboard updates the moment each guest checks in. You can see who's arrived, who hasn't, and how full each table is — from any device, anywhere in the venue.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. SeatMe works entirely in the browser. Guests tap the NFC sticker or scan the QR code and the check-in page opens immediately. Nothing to install.
What happens if a guest doesn't have NFC?
Every guest also gets a QR code link. You can place a shared kiosk QR at the entrance — guests scan it, type their mobile number, and the system finds their record. NFC is the premium experience; QR is the universal fallback.
